German Crystal Growth Conference 2026

The German Crystal Growth Conference (DKT 2026) was successfully held from March 4–6, 2026 in Karlsruhe organized by Institute for Quantum Materials and Technologies. The conference brought together researchers from academia and industry to exchange the latest developments in experimental, theoretical, and applied crystallization research.

The event attracted more than 120 participants and featured a rich scientific program consisting of 7 thematic sessions, 32 oral presentations, and 22 poster contributions. The program also included 10 invited talks, among which one keynote lecture. Two poster prizes were given to Mr. G. Bonetti and Ms. M. Lang.
Scientific discussions covered a wide range of topics including crystal growth fundamentals, bulk semiconductor growth, epitaxy of III–V semiconductors, crystal growth kinetics, and the development of crystals for laser and nonlinear optical applications. Industrial crystal growth as well as crystallization for solid-state and quantum materials research were also strongly represented.
The conference provided an excellent platform for scientific exchange, networking, and collaboration among researchers working in crystal growth and related disciplines. The lively discussions during both oral and poster sessions reflected the strong engagement of participants and the high scientific quality of the contributions.
Overall, DKT 2026 was a very successful conference, fostering new connections and stimulating discussions within the crystal growth community.
The conference was organized by Amir-Abbas Haghighirad, Salomé Daber, and Markus Büchel, whose efforts ensured a smooth organization and a highly engaging scientific program.
